प्रभा साक्षी- जेटली ने कहा था भगवान ने सब कुछ दिया, पर स्वास्थ्य नहीं दिया
अरूण जेटली से मेरा पहला परिचय श्रीराम कॉलेज ऑफ कॉमर्स में 1971 में हुआ। जब मैंने फर्स्ट ईयर में दाखिला लिया, तब अरूण जेटली सैकेंड ईयर में थे। गोरे−चिट्टे, स्मार्ट, चश्मा लगाए हुए अरूण जेटली मुझे आकर्षक स्वभाव के मालूम हुए। उनके बाल थोड़े बढ़े हुए थे और उन दिनों बड़ी बेलबौटम पहनने का रिवाज था। हम दोनों के अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषद् में होने के कारण जल्द ही हमारे संबंध ऐसे बन गए कि आज तक हम साथ−साथ काम करते रहे।
1973 में सैकेंड ईयर में मैं कॉलेज यूनियन के ज्वाइंट सैक्रेटरी के लिए चुनाव लड़ा और अरूण जेटली कॉलेज प्रेजीडेंट के लिए चुनाव लड़े। ऐसा नहीं था कि ये कोई विद्यार्थी परिषद का पैनल था। हम स्वाभाविक रूप से चुनाव में खड़े हुए थे और हम दोनों एक ही छात्र संघ का चुनाव जीत गए। वो प्रेजीडेंट बने और मैं ज्वाइंट सेक्रेटरी। मुझे याद है हमने तब मॉडल टाउन के एक रेस्टोरेंट में बैठकर कॉलेज यूनियन का बजट बनाया था और तब उसको बड़ी गंभीरता से लिया था कि ये बजट लीक नहीं होना चाहिए। आज यह सोचकर हंसी आती है। हमने यूनियन में इकट्ठा काम करना शुरू किया
45 साल पहले कॉलेज के छात्र संघ से जो हमने इकट्ठा काम करना शुरू किया था, वो अब 2019 में राज्य सभा में इकट्ठे काम करने के साथ समाप्त हुआ। वे राज्य सभा में सदन के नेता व मंत्री थे और मैं सदन में पार्लियामेंट्री अफेयर्स मिनिस्टर के रूप में राज्य सभा देखता था।
अरूण के बारे में यह कहा जाता है कि वो पहले स्वतंत्र विचारधारा के थे। पर विद्यार्थी परिषद् में आने के बाद वे पूर्णतया संगठन को समर्पित हो गए। हम दोनों अलग−अलग कॉलेजों में इंटर कॉलेज डिबेट के लिए भी जाते थे। उन दिनों 1973 में दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय में एक बड़ा आन्दोलन हुआ। दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय छात्र संघ के अध्यक्ष श्रीराम खन्ना हमारी अगुवाई कर रहे थे। हम लोग भी उस आन्दोलन में बहुत सक्रिय थे। अकसर विद्यार्थी परिषद् व छात्र संघों और छात्र नेताओं की बैठकें मेरे घर पर हुआ करती थीं, क्योंकि मेरा घर कैम्पस के बहुत पास था। अरूण जेटली भी अकसर मेरे घर आते थे। खुद वे नारायणा विहार के एक मंजिला मकान में रहते थे। वे बस से कॉलेज आया−जाया करते थे। मैंने उनको कभी गाड़ी या स्कूटर चलाते नहीं देखा, शायद उनको चलाना आता भी नहीं था। कभी−कभी वो मेरे टू व्हिलर स्कूटर पर पीछे बैठकर कैम्पस की राजनीति करते थे। उनके और मेरे पिता दोनों वकील थे और दोनों के दफ्तर चांदनी चौक में थे।
1974 में अरूण जेटली दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय छात्र संघ के अध्यक्ष बने और हम लोग जयप्रकाश नारायण के आन्दोलन में कूद गए। जयप्रकाश जी हमारे दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय छात्र संघ के दफ्तर में भी आए और मुझे याद है उन्होंने देश भर से आए छात्र नेताओं को संबोधित भी किया। इस आन्दोलन के चलते−चलते आकस्मिक एक दिन 25 जून, 1975 को आपातकाल घोषित हो गया। रात को मेरे पिता चरती लाल गोयल अन्य नेताओं के साथ गिरफ्तार कर लिए गए।
अगले दिन सुबह अरूण का फोन आया कि कैम्पस में लड़कों को इकट्ठा करो आपातकाल के खिलाफ जुलूस निकालना है। उस समय हमें इमरजेंसी का मतलब भी नहीं पता था कि इसका स्वरूप कितना भयानक होगा। मैंने सोचा पिताजी को पकड़ लिया गया है, कुछ दिनों में छूट जाएंगे, जैसा पहले नेताओं के साथ होता रहा है और हम कैम्पस में जुलूस निकालने चले गए। ये पूरे देश में इमरजेंसी के खिलाफ पहला प्रदर्शन था। हमारे साथ रजत शर्मा (इंडिया टीवी) भी थे। 200−300 लड़कों का जुलूस निकाल कर हमने कांग्रेस, इंदिरा गांधी और आपातकाल के खिलाफ खूब नारेबाजी की। जुलूस खत्म होने के बाद अरूण जेटली कॉफी हाउस चले गए। मैं और रजत अपने कॉलेज चले गए। शाम तक खबर मिली कि अरूण जेटली गिरफ्तार कर लिए गए हैं। अब हम लोग तो अंडरग्राउंड हो गए। बाद में मैं और रजत दोनों सत्याग्रह करके जेल गए। अरूण जेटली स्टूडेंट्स में हीरो हो गए थे। शुरू में वे अम्बाला जेल गए, जहां मेरे पिता समेत कई नेता बंद थे और बाद में वे अगले 19 महीने खत्म होने तक तिहाड़ जेल में रहे और आपातकाल खत्म होने पर ही छूटे।
जब तक हम भूमिगत आन्दोलन में सक्रिय रहे, तब तक अरूण के साथ जेल से हमारा पत्र−व्यवहार होता रहा। जेल में भी उनका मनोबल नहीं टूटा और वे हमको वहीं से चिटि्ठयां लिखते रहे, जो आज भी मेरे पास मौजूद हैं। हिन्दी और अंग्रेजी दोनों में उनकी राइटिंग भले अच्छी न हो, पर दोनों भाषाओं में बोलने में उनकी पकड़ बहुत मजबूत थी।
कॉलेज के दिनों से मेरा और अरूण जेटली का चोली−दामन का साथ रहा। बीच−बीच में हमारे मतभेद भी होते थे। यह ईश्वरीय था कि वो दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी स्टूडेंट्स यूनियन के प्रेजीडेंट बने, उसके बाद मैं बना। दोनों ने कैम्पस लॉ फेकल्टी से कानून की पढ़ाई की और वहीं से यूनिवर्सिटी के प्रेजीडेंट बने। हम दोनों ही तिहाड़ जेल में रहे। पहले वे भारतीय जनता युवा मोर्चा के प्रेजीडेंट थे, उनके बाद मैं बना। वो बीजेपी ऑल इंडिया के महासचिव रहे, बाद में मैं उनके साथ बना। लॉ के बाद राजनीति में रहते−रहते वो वकालत करने लग गए और मैं कागज के व्यापार में चला गया। संयोग से मुझे सांसद होने का मौका पहले मिला, वे भी सांसद बने इसके बाद हम दोनों वाजपेयी सरकार में साथ−साथ मंत्री रहे। वे सूचना एवं प्रसारण व कानून मंत्री बने और मैं उनके बाद प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय में मंत्री बन गया। लॉटरी बंद करवाने की मुहिम में भी उन्होंने मेरा साथ दिया था।
अरूण का दिल्ली में एक बार लोक सभा चुनाव लड़ने का मन भी बन गया था, पर सबकी सहमति न बनने के कारण वे चुनाव न लड़कर, लड़वाने वाली टीम में एक बार जो शामिल हुए, तो फिर वे चुनाव अभियानों में जुटे रहे। उनको लक्की मस्कोट माना गया, जिस भी राज्य के चुनाव प्रभारी बने, वहां पार्टी चुनाव अवश्य जीती। लोक सभा में न जाने का उनको मलाल जरूर रहा। उनको दुख था कि अमृतसर में भाग्य ने उनका साथ नहीं दिया।
अटल जी और आडवाणी जी ने हमारे साथ बहुत−से युवाओं को आगे बढ़ाया। अरूण जेटली के साथ−साथ उस समय प्रमोद महाजन, अनंत कुमार, सुषमा स्वराज, वैंकेया नायडू जैसों की बहुत अच्छी टीम थी। अरूण उन नेताओं में रहें, जिनकी समान रूप से सब क्षेत्रों में पकड़ थी। चाहे वो दूसरी पार्टी के नेता हों या फिर मीडिया ग्रुप के संपादकों से रिपोर्टरों तक। बड़े−बड़े उद्योगपतियों से लेकर वे छोटे से छोटे कार्यकर्त्ता से भी जुड़े हुए थे। उनकी खासियतों को अगर गिनाऊं तो वे आकर्षक व्यक्तित्व के धनी थे। हिन्दी और अंग्रेजी दोनों पर उनकी समान रूप से पकड़ थी। संसद और संसद के बाहर बहुत अच्छे वक्ता रहे। ज्ञान के वे भंडार थे, किसी भी विषय पर कभी भी वे बोल सकते थे। जानकारियां उनके पास हमेशा रहती थीं।
अटल और मोदी सरकारों में उनको संकटमोचक माना जाता रहा। अकसर वे सेल्फ इनीशिएटिव लेकर अपने से बड़े नेताओं को सलाह दिया करते थे। जहां तक मुझे ध्यान आता है, देश भर के सभी सांसदों और विधायकों से उनका परिचय था। शाम के समय वे कार्यक्रमों में भाग लेते थे और वहां गप−शप करना उनका शौक था। मेरे घर पर अकसर होने वाले कार्यक्रमों में वे आते और सबसे मिला करते थे। खाने के शौकीन थे, इसलिए उन्होंने कभी अपने स्वास्थ्य पर ध्यान नहीं दिया। मेरे यहां आते थे तो कहते थे, परांठे जरूर बनवाना। उन्हें अमृतसरी छोले−भटूरे बहुत पसंद थे।
हम लोगों ने पतंग उड़ाने से लेकर लगभग खेलना, बैठना, पढ़ना, राजनीति करना सारे काम एक साथ किए। अकसर वो अपने जन्मदिन पर पॉलिटिकल आदमी को पार्टी में नहीं बुलाते थे। किन्तु मुझे कहते थे, तुम तो मेरे दोस्त हो, इसलिए तुम जरूर आना। हमारी मित्र मंडली में बहुत−से साझा मित्र हैं। अरूण जेटली के लेख और ब्लॉग बड़े प्रसिद्ध रहे। पार्टी के हर दिए हुए काम को वो पूरा करते थे। अपनी बात को वो बेबाक रूप से रखते, किन्तु उसके बाद जो पार्टी तय करती थी, उस पर चलते। जिन लोगों के साथ उनकी नहीं जम पाई, उसकी उन्होंने कभी चिन्ता भी नहीं की।
उस दिन मैं बहुत भावुक हो गया, जब उन्होंने मुझसे कहा कि भगवान ने मुझे सब कुछ दिया, स्वास्थ्य नहीं दिया। वित्त मंत्री बनने से पहले वो लोदी गार्डन में सैर करने जाते थे। बाद में उन्होंने घर पर ही सैर करनी शुरू की। अकसर वो रंजन भट्टाचार्य और कभी−कभी मुझे भी सैर करने के लिए बुला लिया करते थे। अपने परिवार वालों से उनका बहुत लगाव रहा। वे अकसर मुझे बताते थे कि किस आदमी की उन्होंने कैसे−कैसे मदद की। खास तौर से किसी बड़े या छोटे नेता का स्वास्थ्य खराब हो जाए तो वो अपने प्रभाव का इस्तेमाल करके एम्स से लेकर मेदांता तक उसका इलाज करवाते थे।
जेटली परिवार की कुलदेवी बगलामुखी माता का मंदिर हमारी हवेली धर्मपुरा के पास नाईवाड़ा में है, जहां उनके परिवार वाले अक्सर पूजा करने के लिए जाते हैं। यूं मैंने उनको बाकी कभी ज्यादा धार्मिक स्थलों पर जाते नहीं देखा। उनको क्रिकेट का बहुत शौक रहा। वो डीडीसीए के प्रेजीडेंट बने। अकसर क्रिकेट मैच स्टेडियम या टीवी में बड़े चाव से देखते थे और क्रिकेट के आंकड़े उनकी अंगुलियों पर होते थे। अरूण जेटली कभी विवादों में भी रहे, पर कभी उन्होंने हार नहीं मानी। जब केजरीवाल ने उन पर भ्रष्टाचार के आरोप लगाए तो उन्होंने देश का वित्त मंत्री होते हुए कोर्ट में खड़े होकर उसका सामना किया और अंत में केजरीवाल को माफी मांगनी पड़ी। चाहे राजनीति हो या घर−परिवार की बात हो वो खुल कर मेरे से बात किया करते थे।
अरूण जेटली एक प्रसिद्ध वकील, एक ईमानदार नेता, एक बुद्धिमान व्यक्तित्व, एक प्रभावी वक्ता, एक कुशल रणनीतिकार और एक अच्छे मंत्री के रूप में जाने जाएंगे। राजनीति उनकी अपनी पसन्द थी, पर उन्होंने राज भी किया और नीतियां भी बनाईं। मुझे नहीं याद आता कि इतने सारे क्षेत्रों में इतना लम्बा 45 वर्षों का साथ मेरा किसी और के साथ रहा हो, जिसमें इतने सारे खट्ठे−मीठे अनुभव हों।

he BJP said on Tuesday that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's announcement to waive water arrears was a "lollipop" for Delhiites ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections and alleged that half of the residents in the city were deprived of piped water supply.
Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said that announcement of water bill waiver by the Kejriwal government was made in view of the upcoming Assembly elections.
"Kejriwal is trying to mislead the people by making announcement of such freebies before the polls," Tiwari said in a statement.
Rajya Sabha MP and former Union minister Vijay Goel said he will conduct raids to "expose" the chief minister's claim that his government has checked the activities of water tanker mafia.
In a major sop ahead of the Assembly polls due early next year, Kejriwal announced waving water arrears of consumers in colonies categorised E, F, G and H covering majority of the middle class households.
"Kejriwal thinks he can fool the people and make announcements of freeing everything hoping to win Assembly elections. It is because he is trying to hide his failures of the past 4.5 years," Goel said.
Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta asked the AAP government to bring out a white paper on water supply in the city and alleged that the announcement was made after the government collected crores of rupees as arrears with penalties.
"Crores of rupees have already been paid by people as arrears and penalties. So, this is nothing but a lollipop to the people before the assembly elections.
Delhi BJP vice president and a member of Delhi Jal Board (DJB) Jai Prakash, however, welcomed the decision seeking part of its credit for his party. He also questioned the timing of the move.
"We welcome the decision, but the credit goes to us also. We raised the issue of inflated bills at every meeting of the Delhi Jal Board for two years. Why didn't they do it earlier? Why now? Just because the elections are nearing?" he asked.
Gupta claimed that half of the residents in the city were deprived of piped water. In many areas complaints of supply of contaminated water is also common, he said at a press conference at the Delhi BJP office.
"Kejriwal is trying to hide failures of his government in ensuring proper water supply across the city. He also claimed that his government has checked tanker mafia, while in past 4.5 years only two water tankers were caught while around 2,000 private tankers operate in the city," he claimed.
The ruling AAP has in the past announced free public transport including Delhi Metro for women commuters, full waiver on up to 200 units of power consumption and is also working on its poll promise of free wifi across the city.

New Delhi, August 28, 2019: The decision to waive off the pending water dues and surcharge amount by Delhi
CM Kejriwal is a mere election stunt. MP and former BJP Delhi President, Vijay Goel, said that the Delhi
government is discouraging the honest tax payers who pay their bills on time.
Goel said that Kejriwal, who is the Chairman of Jal Board, is announcing these schemes to hide his failures and
the prevalent corruption in the Delhi Jal Board.
Goel said that there has been pervasive corruption in issuing tenders by the Jal Board in last one year. He said
that he will soon expose this corruption. Goel said that the Delhi government should release white paper on the
“Working of Delhi Government” so that the people of Delhi can see that how Kejriwal has been looting them
since last five years. Kejriwal cannot buy the votes of people by resorting to these cheap populist measures.
The United Resident Welfare Association demanded that the Delhi government should also reimburse the
honest bill payers who paid their dues on time. A signature campaign will be organised by it to connect with
people who paid their bills on time.
Goel said that in view of elections, Kejriwal government has been constantly lying to people by misleading
them with freebies. These decisions will either not be implemented or will not actually benefit the people. Goel
said that he wanted to know if Delhi government has paid the Jal Board Rs 484 crore after the waivers
announced in 2016-17? Delhi Jal Board has been allocated the annual budget of Rs 5000 crore, out of which Rs
2500 crore has been allocated for plan development and Rs 2500 crore for revenue/non-planned expenditure.
Yesterday, Kejriwal had said that the Jal Board earned Rs 1800 crores in last financial year. If this is the case,
then the people of Delhi want to know how is Jal Board going to compensate for the losses of Rs 700 crore?
Goel said that he has met so many people who have been claiming that they should also not have paid the bills.
The Kejriwal government can do anything to win the elections. It has been spreading the message that people
can lapse on electricity and water payments without any penalty whatsoever.
Goel said that the Delhi government had declared a scheme of providing 20000 litres of free water but instead
duped the people by not repairing 7 lakh metres out of 23.7 lakh metre connections. Instead, the Delhi
government distributed provisional bills to such people and did not offer any benefits of free 20000 litres of
water. These people had to pay the water bill for 20000 litres of water every month. Kejriwal himself used to
oppose the Automatic Meter Readers (AMR) but because of these meters, 4 lakh consumers are suffering today
and paying bills worth thousand of rupees. This waiver does not guarantee that the unregulated erroneous high
water bills will stop in future. Today, IP 68 standard meters are available in the market for Rs 1400 but those
who have AMR meters, those are still forced to replace their meters with the Jal Board for Rs 7600. Even
Kejriwal himself agrees that these bills do not give accurate readings.
Goel said that the situation is such that in Delhi that the CM has announced tenders worth thousands of crores to
rejuvenate ponds and lakes in Delhi but has not disclosed where this amount for rejuvenation is coming from.
The Delhi Jal Board which in last four years could not release tenders for non-plan works, has released tenders
worth thousands of crores to mislead the people of Delhi. The people want to know how this rejuvenation work
will be completed if the Jal Board does not have the money to pay for it.
Kejriwal should return the bill payments of those who have already made payments- Goel
Four months to Delhi elections, Kejriwal announcing waivers in desperation- Goel;
Tanker mafias more than before, Goel to expose them;
New Delhi, 27 August 2019: MP and ex BJP Delhi President, Vijay Goel, raised the question of remittance to those who had honestly paid the water bills on time.
Goel claimed that just before four months to Delhi elections, CM Arvind Kejriwal has been constantly lying to the people out of desperation. Waivers like these reflect the desperation and sad situation of Kejriwal.
Goel said that Kejriwal was lax in last five years and did not do anything for the people of Delhi. With elections approaching, he is exploiting the innocent tax payers and misusing their money by giving waivers. Metro still hasn't given free rides to woman but Kejriwal spent crores on advertisement. The DTC still hasn't offered free bus rides to women, but Kejriwal has made so much noise about it.
Goel said that the electricity charges in Delhi increased manifold because of fixed charges. Out of 21 lakh water metre connections 7 lakhs do not function. These connections have not been repaired because Kejriwal doesn't want to give them free 20000 litres of water. Kejriwal is toying with the sentiments of honest tax payers. This is also the harassment of those people who pay their bills on time.
Goel said that these waivers do not matter after five years. These are perceived as vote bank politics. To begin with, these declarations are difficult to implement and even if they're implemented, it seems like Kejriwal is trying to buy the voters of Delhi.
Goel said that the tanker mafias in Delhi have increased manifold because the members of AAP party only illegally deal with these tanker mafias. Goel said that he will expose these illegal activities.

नई दिल्ली : राज्य सभा सांसद विजय गोयल ने पूर्व वित्त मंत्री अरुण जेटली के निधन पर गहरा शोक व्यक्त किया। उन्होंने कहा कि अरुण जेटली और उनका 48 वर्षों का संबंध था। 1971 में पहली बार वे श्री राम कॉलेज ऑफ कॉमर्स में मिले थे। जेटली उनके सीनियर थे। कॉलेज की यूनियन में वे अध्यक्ष और गोयल संयुक्त सचिव रहा था। दोनों नेताओं का साथ विद्यार्थी परिषद में छात्र राजनीति से शुरू होकर हमेशा बना रहा।
गोयल ने कहा कि कॉलेज के दिनों में हम लोग दूसरे कॉलेजो में डिबेट के लिए जाते थे। छात्र संघ के आंदोलनों और जय प्रकाश नारायण के आंदोलनों में भी एक साथ हमने भाग लिया। जिस समय जनता पार्टी बनी तब जेटली को कार्यकारणी में रखा गया था, लेकिन विद्यार्थी परषिद के दबाव में उन्होंने त्याग पत्र दे दिया था। जेटली खाने-पीने के शौकीन थे और उन्हें परांठे बहुत पसंद थे। वे चांदनी चौक में जब भी हमारी हवेली आते थे तो परांठे की ही मांग करते थे।
इमरजेंसी में सबसे पहला जुलूस हमने अरुण जेटली की लीडरशिप में ही निकाला था। उसमें वे बाद में गिरफ्तार होकर जेल चले गए और पूरे 19 महीने जेल में रहे। मैं और रजत शर्मा बाद में सत्याग्रह कर जेल गए। उन्होंने कहा कि अरुण जेटली एक अच्छे अंग्रेजी और हिंदी के वक्ता थे। देश के प्रसिद्ध वकीलों में वे शुमार थे।

दिल्ली प्रदेश भाजपा अध्यक्ष मनोज तिवारी ने पूर्व केन्द्रीय मंत्री अरुण जेटली के निधन पर गहरी संवेदना व्यक्त करते हुए कहा है कि मैं इस दुखद समाचार से स्तब्ध हूं। यह देश के लिए अपूरणीय क्षति है क्योंकि देश ने एक महान अर्थशास्त्री, अधिवक्ता, प्रखर वक्ता खो दिया है। जेटली का दिल्ली के लोगों से बेहद स्नेह था और वह समय-समय पर दिल्ली भाजपा को अपना मार्गदर्शन देते रहते थे।
उन्होंने कहा कि राजनीति में उनके निधन से खाली हुए स्थान को भर पाना मुश्किल है। ईश्वर उनकी आत्मा को शांति प्रदान करें एवं परिवार को इस मुश्किल घड़ी को सहन करने की शक्ति दे। देश उनके योगदान को कभी नहीं भूल पाएगा।

वित्त मंत्री के रूप में जेटली के कार्यकाल में सबसे बड़े संरचनात्मक सुधारों में से एक जीएसटी को लागू किया गया। वे हमेशा छोटे व्यापारियों और व्यवसायियों की चिंताओं के प्रति सजग थे। जेटली सकारात्मकता का वह प्रकाशपुंज थे जिनके पास हर समस्या का हल था। उनकी मृत्यु से जो रिक्तता हुई है उसे पाटना अति कठिन है।
राष्ट्रीय जनतांत्रिक गठबंधन सरकार के पहले कार्यकाल में प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के मंत्रिमंडल के प्रमुख सदस्य के रूप में जेतली ने वित्त एवं रक्षा मंत्रालय के भार को बखूबी संभाला तथा अक्सर सरकार के लिए मुख्य संकट मोचक के रूप में कार्य किया।

नई दिल्ली, 25 अगस्त, 2019: सांसद व पूर्व अध्य्क्ष भाजपा दिल्ली विजय गोयल ने कहा अरुण जेटली जैसे ईमानदार कर्मठ विद्वान नेता हमारे बीच में से चला गया। मेरा उनका साथ श्रीराम कॉलेज से लेकर मोदी सरकार तक 48 साल का सफर रहा। जेटली जी पर पूरी पुस्तक लिखी जा सकती है। अरुण को दिल्ली से बहुत लगाव था। दिल्ली की राजनीति में उनका काफी मान था चाहे वो दिल्ली के प्रभारी थे या नहीं। दिल्ली भाजपा में कौन अध्य्क्ष होगा इसमें उनकी भी राय ली जाती थी। मेरा उनका कॉलेज से लेकर मोदी सरकार में एकसाथ काम करने का 48 साल का अनुभव रहा। वर्षों तक वह दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय छात्र संघ के चुनाव लड़ाते रहे। दिल्ली युवा मोर्चा के अध्यक्ष रहे। बीच बीच में उनका नाम मुख्यमंत्री के लिए भी चलता था पर तब तक वो राष्ट्रीय राजनीति में सक्रिय हो गए थे। अक्सर वो मुझ से दिल्ली के विकास पर चर्चा करते। वो चाहते थे कि दिल्ली विश्वस्तरीय राजधानी बने। अक्सर वो दिल्ली के विकास पर आयोजित सेमिनार में भाग लेते। मेरे लाटरी आंदोलन का उन्होंने बहुत समर्थन दिया।हम लोग फुरसत के पल में बहुत विषयों पर चर्चा करते। उनको खाने पीने का बहुत शौक था मेरे घर जब मंगल मिलन का कार्यक्रम होता तो पूछते थे परांठे खिलाओगे क्या। हमारी हवेली धर्मपुरा के कार्यक्रम में हमने पतंग उड़ाई। उनके सब्जो राजनीतिक दलों में दोस्त थे इसलिये वो संकट मोचक का काम आसानी से कर लेते थे। अटल जी की सरकार में जब मैं प्रधाममंत्री कार्यालय में मंत्री बना तो वह बहुत खुश थे। शपथ के बाद मुझे खुद छोड़ने घर तक आएं। पहले वह लोधी गार्डन में सैर करने जाया करते थे। फिर वे मंत्री बनने के बाद अपने घर मे ही सैर करने लगे। कभी-कभी वह मुझे घर ही सैर के लिए बुला लेते थे और फिर गप शप भी हो जाती थी। उनके निधन पर मुझे बहुत दुख है। उस दिन मैं बहुत भावुक हो गया जब वो बोले भगवान ने मुझे सब कुछ दिया सिवाय स्वास्थ के। मेरी आँखों में आंसू थे उनकी यह बात सुनकर ।
The Week- Vijay Goel pays tributes to Jaitley recalls long association with departed leader
New Delhi, Aug 24 (PTI) Former Union minister Vijay Goel paid rich tributes to his "multi-faceted" friend Arun Jaitley on Saturday and recalled the departed leader's fondness for good food.
Jaitley, a former Union finance minister and a senior leader of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), passed away on Saturday at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here, where he was undergoing treatment.
Goel, who knew Jaitley for nearly five decades, said he lost a "friend, colleague and guide" in his demise.
"I first met him in 1971 at the Sri Ram College of Commerce, where he was my senior. He was the president of the college students' union, while I was the secretary. Our relationship started as Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists and lasted for 48 years," the BJP leader said.
Recalling Jaitley's fondness for good food, he said, "He loved paranthas very much. Whenever he visited my haveli (Dharampura Haveli) at Chandni Chowk, he would ask for paranthas."
Jaitley spent 19 months in jail during the Emergency in the 1970s for taking out a protest march, the Rajya Sabha MP said, adding that journalist Rajat Sharma and he himself soon followed suit.
During his college days, Jaitley would go on outings to Shimla and Mussoorie, he said, adding that the former finance minister used to go to the Lodhi Gardens here for morning walk and regularly interacted with fellow morning-walkers over tea at a spot, which came to be known as the "Jaitley corner".
As a Union minister, Jaitley deftly handled important portfolios such as defence, and finance among others, Goel, who was his cabinet colleague in the first term of the Narendra Modi government, said.
"He made special contributions in demonetisation, GST, macro-stabilisation, bank consolidation and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code in the Modi government," he said.
In the party organisation as well as in the government, Jaitley always offered his wise counsel to younger colleagues, Goel said, adding that the void created by his demise would be very hard to fill.

कॉलेज के दिनों में हम लोग दूसरे कॉलेजो में डिबेट के लिए जाते थे। छात्र संघ के आंदोलनों और जय प्रकाश नारायण के आंदोलनों में भी एकसाथ हमने भाग लिया I जब जनता पार्टी बनी तब उनको कार्यकारणी में रखा गया था, पर विद्यार्थी परषिद के दबाव में उन्होंने त्याग पत्र देदिया I वह खाने-पीने के शौकीन थे I उनको परांठे बहुत पसंद थे I चांदनी चौक की जब हमारी हवेली में वह आते थे तो परांठो की ही मांग करतेथे I

दूसरी पार्टी के नेताओं के साथ भी उनके अच्छे संबंध रहे I मुझे याद है कॉलेज के दिनों में वह मसूरी-शिमला भी घूमने जाया करते थे I सवेरेपहले हम लोधी गार्डन में सैर करते थे और सैर के बाद चाय पीते हुए वार्तालाप होता था I वहां एक जगह जेटली कार्नर के नाम से प्रसिद्ध होगयी थी I
अरुण जेटली के जाने से मैंने मित्र साथी और मार्गदर्शक खोया है। उनके रिक्तस्थान को भरना बहुत मुश्किल है I

Gearing up for the upcoming assembly elections next year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is reaching out to the residents of unauthorised colonies in the national capital. BJP MP Vijay Goel has planned a mega meet of residents of 1,797 unauthorised colonies, which are considered an Aam Aadmi Party stronghold, on August 31.
Riding high on its victory on all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, the BJP is hoping to repeat the success in the assembly elections. To achieve this objective, BJP members admit, it is important to make a dent in AAP’s vote bank in the unauthorised colonies.
Goel said residents of these colonies have been “fooled” by the Congress in the past and now the AAP. “We want to tell residents of these colonies that their areas can be regularised only when the same political party is in power at the Centre, state and civic agencies. We are in power at the Centre and the civic bodies. If BJP comes to power in the Delhi, we will be able to regularise all the colonies without any legal hassle,” said Goel.
With the Centre initiating the process to give ownership rights to residents of unauthorised colonies, the BJP plans to intensify its campaign to reach out to people in unauthorised colonies.
“After traders, group housing society residents, we are now reaching out to unauthorised colonies to address their concerns. On August 31, we have planned a mega meet with residents of unauthorised colonies. The idea is to tell them why it is important to have the same political party in power in Delhi and how we will be able to expedite the regularisation process,” said Goel.
