Kejriwal protecting “Law-breaker” minister, corrupt Congress leaders: Goel

A delegation of  Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party  led by Sh. Vijay Goel met today Delhi Police Commissioner Sh. B.S. Bassi  to demand immediate action against Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharati and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for repeatedly breaking the law. The delegation handed over a memorandum to Sh. Bassi regarding the same.
Delhi BJP  President Sh. Vijay Goel said that the BJP delegation raised the issue that why Police is treating Bharati and Kejriwal as ‘Khaas Aadmi” and no action is taken against them. Bharati has named a rape victim in an official statement issued from his office, he has also been named in an FIR by the Ugandan women after he misbehaved with them and tried to conduct an illegal raid, he has used abusive language against the public figures and yet  he has been not arrested so far. Similarly, Kejriwal violated section 144 of IPC repeatedly during his dharna at Ral Bhawan in full public view for two days and yet he has not been named in an FIR and no action has been initiated against him.

The police commissioner has assured us that all these matters are under investigation and the police is gathering evidence which would be produced in the court, said Sh. Goel.

“The BJP will not relent till Somnath Bharati is sacked and action is taken against Kejriwal. The party as a part of its agitation will be holding demonstrations and dharna in all its 14 district units tomorrow cross the city . Our message is very clear- “AAP-Congress ka gathjod- Raj nahin arajka, Somnath Bharti ko hatao(Congress-AAP alliance-No governance with anarchy everywhere; Remove Somnath Bharati immediately).

Sh. Goel  will be a part of  the agitation on Friday in Chandani Chowk, New Delhi and Malviya Nagar. Dr. Harsh Vardhan will lead it in Trans-Yamuna, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Sh.  Vijender Gupta and Aarti Mehra  will lead the BJP workers in  west Delhi, north Delhi and south Delhi respectively.

The delegation which met the Police Commissioner today comprised former Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijendra Gupta, BJP national secretary Ms Aarti Mehra, senior party leader Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, BJP general secretaries Sh. Ramesh Bidhuri, Smt Shikha Rai and Shri Jaiprakash, Sh, Ajay Digpaul, Sh. Anil Soni and Ash. Harish Khurana.
BJP delegation to meet LG  to handover evidence for corruption charges
A BJP delegation led by Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel and Leader of Opposition Dr. Harsh Vardhan will meet the Lieutenant Governor at 2:30 pm on Friday to hand over the evidence of corruption charges against former Chief Minister Sheila Dikishit and other  former ministers of Congress.

Sh. Goel said, “After the AAP-Congress Alliance government came into power in Delhi , the AAP government is protecting the Congress leaders on the issue of corruption. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is now saying he has no evidence against the Congress leaders. It is clear that he is returning the favour to them  for getting support to form the government.”

The BJP will expose this unholy alliance by submitting the evidence which has been well documented by various committees and institutions like Lokayukta and CAG in the past. “We will be asking the LG to issue directions to the AAP government to immediately proceed against the corrupt Congress leaders who looted Delhi with both hands for the last 15 years,” said Sh. Goel.

“Aaam Aadmi Party” now comprises of only “Khaas Aadmi” who hold Delhi at ransom to protect one minister: Goel

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party today announced that all 14 district units of the party in Delhi will hold dharna to press for resignation of Law Minister Somnath Bharati for being the biggest ‘law breaker’ and to protest the anti-women, anti-development and anti-common people alliance of AAP and Congress. The dharna will be held on January 24.
Addressing a press conference today, Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel said, “The people of Delhi are being held at ransom by AAP ministers and workers including the Chief Minister as we witnessed during the last couple of days.  Now AAP comprises of only “Khaas Aadmi” who have no time to think about real issues and problems affecting common people.

Congress leader Ajay Maken defended AAP yesterday and Congress continues to support them. The Chief Minister is returning this favour by not lodging any cases against corrupt Congress ministers and Chief Minister of the previous Congress government.

Following are some of the key issues that will be raised by the BJP on January 24:

1.       AAP-Congress are hand in glove.  They jointly staged the political drama that held Delhi’ites at ransom during the last two days.
2.       Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal , supported by Congress held people at ransom to protect law minister Law Bharati whose list of ‘illegalities’ is growing with every passing day. He has misbehaved with women, used foul language against others, has been indicted by a court for professional misconduct. He should be removed immediately
3.       This is an anti-women government. The ministers misbehave with women. A woman journalist was pushed around and injured by AAP supporters yesterday. Women guest teachers who came to meet Kejriwal with their demands yesterday were abused and pushed around.
4.       AAP has failed to deliver any of the promises which it made be it on power, water, CNG prices, corruption, women safety. All its announcements have been on paper. There has been no respite. Where is the women commando force which was promised? Why did the Chief Minister showed no urgency to meet Police Commissioner when a Danish women was gang raped.
5.       The common people are reeling under power cuts, lack of availability of water, higher water tariff, high power tariff and higher prices.
6.       The anticorruption moves have been an eyewash. The ‘big fish’ are left untouched.  No case of corruption has been taken up against former Congress ministers and the former Congress Chief Minister against whom ample evidence has been documented by CAG, Lokayukta and Shunglu Committee.
7.       Disrespect shown by AAP towards Republic Day celebrations. Its leaders should apologise.
8.       Misbehaviour of AAP ministers, use of abusive and foul language by them against all those who raise questions about the anarchy promoted by AAP government. The Chief Minister himself is taking a lead on this.

Addressing the press conference, leader of BJP in North Delhi Municipal Corporation Smt. Meera Aggarwal and South Delhi Municipal Corporation Mayor Smt. Sarita Chaudhary said, “This government is an anti-women government. The law minister misbehaved with the women. Women were abused and misbehaved with by AAP workers at dharna. And Chief Minister held Delhi’tes at ransom to protect his law minister who is anti-women.”

“The BJP will continue to expose the AAP-Congress alliance and its betrayal of Delhi’ites. Instead of handling people’s problems, the chief minister is making mockery of the governance. The BJP will continue to take up people’s real problems and issues and will fight for them,” said Shri Goel

AAP is a controlled by Maoists targeting to disrupt democratic polity, spread anarchy: Vijay Goel

Thousands of young men and women of Delhi  today protested at Jantar Mantar  under the banner of Delhi Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha demanding the resignation of Delhi Law Minister Somnatah Bharati for his “unlawful and anti-women activities. Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel, Delhi BJYM President Shri Gaurav Khari, Delhi BJP general secretaries Smt. Shikha Rai and Shri Jai Prakash were among those who were detained by the Delhi Police.
Addressing the youth who had gathered at Jantar Mantar braving rains and cold, Shri Goel said, “It is deplorable that AAP with the support of Congress is holding whole Delhi at ransom to protect a minister who has misbehaved with women, has been indicted by court for professional misconduct as an advocate and has been taking law in his own hands.”

“Delhi Chief Minister and his colleagues are insisting on disrupting the Republic Day celebrations. They have no regard for our polity and sacred institutions like army. It is clear now that AAP is actually controlled and run by Maoists and they are targeting to disrupt the polity of this country. The aim of AAP is to create a situation  of anarchy which is a manifestation of  Maoist ideology,” he added.

“A greater cause of worry is that Congress is supporting AAP. It also shows the true character of these two parties-AAP and Congress. They can go to any extent to serve their own political interests. They are not bothered about the hardships faced by the people of Delhi due to disruptive show of arrogance in Central Delhi,” said Shri Goel.

“People want respite from inflation. They want cheaper power, clean water, good education, cheap rations, development in unauthorised colonies and nothing has been done by AAP government in this regard except making some flashy announcements. Arrogance and negativism is the hallmark of AAP-Congress alliance,” said Shri Khari wile addressing the gathering.

“AAp has done nothing to improve the safety of women in the city. Where is the commando force for women which was promised. Women are getting gangraped on Delhi streets and AAP is busy protecting its ministers who have become notorious for their highhandedness,” said Shri Goel.

The BJP will not allow this kind of anarchy in the city. “Either this government should work for people or it should go. It has no right to continue if it cannot work for people,” said Shri Goel.

Kejriwal is “Mr. U-Turn”, staging political drama to hide his government’s failure

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party today slammed  AAP for staging a political drama to draw away attention of the people from real issues on which it has failed to deliver. The party condemned the AAP for causing hardship to thousands of Delhi’ites by blocking Central Delhi which resulted in closure of four metro stations for most of the day. The party also said that governance cannot be done from roads. The sanctity of the process of governance is being violated for petty political mileage by hogging headlines.
To protest the breakdown of administrative machinery and pushing Delhi towards anarchy and to demand resignation of law minister Somanth Bharati for his illegal and unconstitutional activities and arrogance of AAP ministers and Chief Minister, the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha will hold a demonstration at Jantar Mantar on Tuesday, 21 January.

Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel said, “AAP Chief Minister and his Ministerial colleagues have behaved in an extremely irresponsible manner. Instead of sacking the law minister Somnath Bharati who has misbehaved with women, has been indicted by court, Kejriwal and his ministers are sitting on dharna.”

“They have failed to deliver on areas which are in Delhi government’s domain such as power, water, development of JJ clusters and unauthorised colonies, education and transport. They have dumped the “Janta Durbars”. When their anti-corruption helpline flopped, they blamed the Anti Corrpution branch. There have been no orders on power tariff reduction so far. The ‘free water’ provision will benefit a few affluent families only,” he added.

“Kejriwal is Mr. U-Turn. He has taken an about turn on every promise. Now with an eye on 2014 Lok Sabha polls, he has left the governance on backburner and is doing political acrobatics,” he added.

Shri Goel said, “It is a bizarre situation where Congress and AAP are indulging in shadow boxing. AAP is running this government with Congress support and now both are criticising and holding dharna against each other. This clearly shows how opportunistic this alliance is.”

Vijay Goel presses for Bharati’s removal after court orders FIR

The Delhi  Bharatiya Janata Party today  said that its stand of demanding resignation of  Delhi law minister Somnath Bharati has been vindicated by the Court order of registering FIR  in the case involving Somnath Bharti and several other AAP  workers.
Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel said, “After a court order of FIR in case involving Bharati along with several AAP workers, he should be removed immediately. He is a symbol of ‘AAP style of governance’ which is racist, discriminatory, violent and anarchic. The sooner Delhi’ites can get rid of AAP regime, the better it will be for the people.”

“The Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwals’s bluff of taking high moral ground on all issues is being called off now.  He is protecting his law minister who has emerged as the biggest                law-breaker’ in the government,” said pressing for immediate removal of Bharati fom the cabinet.

“Instead of taking action against his party leaders and ministers who are taking law in their own hands, the Chief Minister along with cabinet is trying to divert the attention of people from the real issues by s announcing a dharna against Union home ministry,” he added.

“What Kejriwal needs to do is to set his house in order.   While he continues to talk about political morality his words are much louder than his actions. Had he got even a slight bit of political morality, he would have sacked Bharati and some other ministers also for taking law in their own hands, behaving arrogantly and violating various norms of administration,” said Shri Goel.

Shri Goel said, “We are expecting that Bharati’s professional license to practice as an advocate will be cancelled on the basis of my complaint filed a few days ago. But that is not sufficient. The BJP wants him to resign.   Right from the day he has taken over as law minister, he has violated almost every rule in the rule book.”

“Bharati has already been indicted by a Delhi Court for professional misconduct and now today a court has asked to file an FIR in an incident in which he is one of the main perpetrators of crime.  His position is indefensible now. He is actually becoming a grave threat to Delhi residents.

Vijay Goel attacks AAP in address to National Council, terms AAP as ‘B’ team of Congress

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today attacked Aam Admi party’s anarchic rule and doublespeak in his address to around 10,000 delegates of the BJP’s National Council at Ramlila Maidan.
Addressing the delegates Shri Goel said, “There were three pillars of AAP’s poll campaign-  anti-corruption, anti-VIP culture and resolution of people’s problems. It has failed on all three fronts miserably. No corruption cases are lodged against Congressleaders who looted Delhi during their 15 years rule. The AAP ministers are taking bungalows and using government SUVs with VIP numbers. They have done away with initiatives like “Janata Darbar” and are not able to resolve even a single problem of common people.”

“It is clear that AAP is ‘B’ team of Congress as it has not lodged any complaint against former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and others against whom there is clear evidence of corruption in commonwealth games as well as several other projects and schemes.”

Shri Goel said, “The contest in 2014 Lok Sabha polls will not be between BJP and UPA but it is between 10 years misrule of UPA and the common people who are  bearing the flak of high inflation, loss of jobs, poor growth and most of all  rampant corruption.”

“Today people want a leader who is strong, committed, honest and dedicated to serve them. Shri Narendra Modi has all these qualities, so he is the first choice of people.

“We have recently won assembly elections in three major states very handsomely and in Delhi also we emerged as the single largest party. Our workers in Delhi worked really hard.  We might have committed some mistakes in Delhi as we could not form the government on our own. But we are ready to rectify our mistakes,” he added.

“I can assure that in Mission 272 plus , the Delhi BJP will contribute by winning all 7 Lok Sabha seats,” said Shri Goel

Need to do away with inspector raj, provide services at doorstep: Vijay Goel

The Bharatiya Janata Party ruled three municipal corporations will simplify the trade licenses procedure in days to come. The municipal corporations will ensure that the traders do not have to submit any No objection certificates and they can get a trade license by simply submitting an affidavit.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the MCD leaders chaired by the Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel.  “We also discussed the ways and means to spruce up the sanitation in all wards in the city. Special inspections will be held to ensure proper sanitation and action,” said Shri Goel.

The BJP ruled MCDs have been asked to look into the problems and challenges faced by the street vendors. There are more than 3.5 lakh street vendors and a large number of them face problems. Street vendors are an integral part of the city’s socio-economic fabric. “We will streamline the system so that  they are not harassed,” said Shri Goel.

The BJP President emphasised the need to provide services to the doorstep. “We need to do away with inspector and license raj. The MCD leaders will look into various procedures and systems and find ways and means to ensure that quick, effective and transparent action is taken on all issues,” he added.

Shri Goel also announced that Ms Meera Agarwal has been appointed as the leader of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation. Shri Goel emphasised that the BJP councillors to be constantly in touch with people at the grassroots level and resolve their problems.

He said AAP-Congress alliance is increasingly becoming fragile due to the inner contradictions. The AAP-Congress alliance has failed to resolve issues concerning people.

“The BJP ruled municipal corporations should become the model municipal corporations so that people’s aspirations can be fulfilled.”

“We will be constantly monitoring the functioning of the MCDs and in days to come many more steps will be initiated to make them more and more people friendly. Improvement is a constant process and we will continue to strive towards that in the BJP ruled municipal corporations,” said Shri Goel.

The meeting was attended among others by leaders and standing committee chairpersons as well as mayors of the municipal corporations.

Bharati’s presence is grave danger to rule of law in Delhi, exposes AAP’s immoral, dishonest politics: Vijay Goel

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party today slammed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for shamelessly defending his law minter and challenging the order of a special CBI court which indicted Bharati for tampering with evidence in a case of corruption.
“This shameless defence of Bharati by Arvind Kejriwal is shocking. We want Bharati to be immediately removed. He is not fit to be the minister. A person who has been indicted for impropriety and adopting completely unfair and illegal means in a case of corruption by the court itself cannot be allowed to be minister,” said Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel.

“How can a Chief Minister exonerate a minister when he has been indicted by the court. Does Shri Kejriwal want to send a message that his party leaders are above law?  If he does not agree with the court verdict, he should go to the court. But the argument given so far in defence of Bharati is unacceptable,” he added.

The BJP will not relent till Bharati is removed from the post. His presence poses a grave danger to the rule of law in Delhi. A man who has been indicted by the court in such a serious offence is unfit to honour the oath that he took as minister. Earlier he tried to interfere in judiciary by seeking meeting of the district judges. He also misbehaved with his law secretary. However, all this has been ignored by AAP so far which shows their true colours.

Shri Goel said, “One should not be surprised by the shameless defence of a corrupt minister by Arvind Kejriwal as he is an expert in taking U-turn and defending the corrupt in the name of “aam aadmi”. He forged an alliance with Congress whose corruption was a key issue in assembly polls. He has not filed even a single complaint against any of the Congress leaders so far.”

In fact most of the AAP leaders have mastered the art of doublespeak. They have taken houses, SUVs with VIP numbers and have said that they do not have proof of corruption against Congress. This clearly shows that now in Delhi, it is Congress which is ruling Delhi through backdoor. And AAP has betrayed Delhiites by hobnobbing with them even after Delhi had rejected the misrule of Congress.

Delhi BJP Presidentl greets Delhi’ites on occasion of Lohri, Makar Sankranti and Pongal

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party  President Shri Vijay Goel  today  announced that the party has set  20 committees in Delhi to prepare for the  National Council and National Executive  meeting of BJP on 17,18 and 19 January. More than 10,000 delegates from all over the country are likely to attend the National Council meeting.
The BJP National President Shri Rajnath Singh along with other senior leaders of the party will hoist the flag to start the event. While the national executive meeting will be held at the NDMC convention centre, the national council meeting will be held at Ramlila Maidan.

“The party has set up committees to look after various aspects of organising this event. So we have committees on parking, food, security, reception, transport, media, sanitation, health, etc.  We are trying to ensure that the common people do not face any problem due to any of our programmes and there is smooth movement of traffic especially in the central Delhi area,” said Shri Goel.

The Delhi BJP is setting up special counters and registration desks for delegates at the railway stations and inter-state bus terminals in Delhi so that delegates coming from other states  do not face any problem.

“This is the second time in less than one year that we are getting this opportunity to hold the national council and the national executive. Earlier also the Delhi BJP had organised both the meets with great success. We are hoping that we will do even better this time,” said Shri Goel.

“We have assigned work to our legislators, councillors and various party office bearers and cadres in  Delhi BJP and the party  cadres are all geared up to make this even a huge success.  BJP’s flags, hoardings, banners etc. Will put up all over the city reminding the citizens that  all of us have to work together for betterment of the country by strengthening hands of BJP’s PM candidate Shri Narendra Modi ,” said Shri Goel.

Delhi BJP President’s greetings on occasion of Lohri,Makar Sakranti and Pongal
Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel has greeted Delhi’ites on the occasion of festivals of Lohri, which falls on 13th January, Makar Sankranti and Pongal, which fall on 14th January. Shri Goel said, “On the occasion of these festivals, I convey my greetings and best wishes to Delhi’ites and wish all  of them to have peace, harmony, prosperity, happiness and good governance.”

Officers humiliated, arbitrary decisions have halted work in administration: Vijay Goel

With confusion prevailing over the power and water bills and massive power cuts The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party today slammed the AAP government for creating a crisis of governance in Delhi affecting common people.
"The BJP will soon launch a 'Bijli Andolan' if corrective measures are not taken immediately," said Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel.

"The AAP government has failed to bring any clarity on issue of power. There is no step to repair the metres which are running fast. The CM has shifted the onus of responsibility for power cuts on the power companies as Delhiites suffer from long and unscheduled power cuts. Those consuming above 400 units per month will continue to pay high tariff. Taxpayers money is being given to power companies in the name of tariff," added Sh. Goel.

"The CM and his ministerial colleagues are busy in making populist statements and the administration has come to a halt. There is complete confusion and chaos in every sphere of governance. Instead of utilizing skills of officials they are being subjected to humiliation and arbitrary orders. This has led to a grave crisis of governance," he added.

The BJP will launch a ‘door-to-door' campaign if power tariff is not rationalized for all sets of consumers. Also all the power metres should be corrected immediately. The power companies should be penalized for power cuts," said Sh. Goel.

The AAP Government should focus on administration and not on political gimmickry. People of Delhi have been handed over a raw deal by the AAP-Cong alliance Government so far. The BJP will not tolerate this and continue to expose the unholy alliance between AAP and Congress.
