Congress Govt. making Delhi unaffordable for the poor:Goel

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today termed the Congress led-UPA government’s decision to provide 5 KG LPG cylinders at petrol pumps as half-baked and anti-people decision. This is yet another decision which would make living in Delhi unaffordable for the poor. The party also slammed the Congress government for making yet another ”fake” promise of providing three subsidised LPG cylinders every year to the below poverty households  at  subsidized rate.

In a statement issued today, the Delhi BJP president Shri Vijay Goel said, “It is ironical that even though the 5 KG LPG cylinder is generally used by the poor people but being made available at the market price which is out of reach for the common people. It would have been better had the government provided subsidized LPG cylinder at petrol pumps.”

Also, these cylinders will be available at on 3% of the 47000 petrol pumps all over the country. That simply implies that in Delhi these cylinders would be rarely available.   And wherever they are available they would be out of reach of the poor people as they are being sold at the market price.

Shri Goel said, “In fact, the poor are not getting three subsidized LPG cylinders which were promised with much fanfare by Delhi government. They have to buy LPG cylinders at market price which has completely upset their household budgets.” The Delhi government had announced in January this year that it would provide three additional LPG cylinders to the BPL families every week. But the promise is yet to materialise.

“With prices of vegetables, foodgrains, edible oil and all other basic items soaring high, a large number of lower middle incomes families are being pushed below poverty line in Delhi. What is making situation worst is that the Delhi government is not issuing ration cards to the common people in the city. The result is that there is no cushion available to them.”

“Ironically, those who have been issued ration cards are also suffering due to an inefficient and corrupt PDS in the city. Delhi PDS is one of the most corrupt PDS in the country and the most inefficient too. The fact is that the Food Security Scheme has already fallen flat on its face even before it started functioning despite launched with much fanfare.”

The Delhi BJP, when it comes to power, will ensure that those living in slums and the BPL families must get not only ration cards but are able to avail of the entitlements due to them. “Merely announcing entitlements won’t do as the Congress government has been doing,“ said Shri Goel.

Shri Vijay Goel inaugurates Community Center dedicated to Shaheed Mohan Chand Sharma

The community center in Sector 12, Dwarka was today named Shaheed Mohan Chand Sharma Community Center after slain Delhi Police officer Mohan Chand Sharma who lost his life in an anti-terrorist operation in September 2008 following the Delhi serial blasts. The community center which comes under the South Delhi Zone of the SDMC, was inaugurated by Delhi State BJP President Vijay Goel. Paying homage to the Late officer Goel said, "no Delhite can ever forget the martyrdom of Mohan Chand Sharma who lost his life in the operation against terrorists hiding in Batla House in the Jamia Nagar locality. It is sad that petty political considerations have worked to discredit the operation."

The presence of the slain officer's family lent a special poignance to the inaugural function which saw the presence of Subhash Arya, leader of the house in SDMC and Standing Committee Chairman Rajesh Gehlot.

Voicing the local residents' concerns Goel added, "Dwarka is known to be the largest group          co-operative housing township in Asia but the Delhi government has been giving it step-motherly treatment."  He announced that within the next ten days SDMC will have installed a semi high mast light, four benches and swings for children in each of the residential societies. He reminded his audience that five fully air-conditioned banquet halls have recently been commissioned in the area.

Agreeing that the Delhi Government treats Co-operative group housing societies as a second rate organization Mr. Goel pointed out that the society pays the highest rates for electricity bills for street lights and common area lights while in other areas the government itself foots the bill. Even for the booster pumps used for pumping water in the multi-storied buildings, the CGHS society pays five to six times the normal rate for electricity.

Goel pointed out that the SDMC has no right to levy house tax from this society since it uses its own funds to maintain its parks and common areas but the SDMC has its hands tied since the public representatives are not allowed to use their LADS funds here. He appealed to the LG that elected public representatives be allowed to use their LADS funds here.  Shri Goel assured that BJP on coming to power in Delhi we will ensure that CGHS will be given facilities as par with rest of Delhi and will make them world class living societies in this regard Shri Goel assured that BJP will release a comprehensive white paper on issues relating to Co-operative group housing societies.

Moral victory for BJP, Congress relenting under intense pressure from BJP on reservation in colleges : Goel

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today said that the BJP has scored a major moral victory on the issue of providing reservation in colleges to students passing from Delhi schools.

“We have been raising this demand for the last many years and our pressure has compelled the Delhi government to initiate this move,” said Shri Goel in a statement issues today.

“This is a major victory for the BJP’s long standing movement to provide reservation in Delhi colleges for students passing out of Delhi schools.”

Shri Goel said that there is ample evidence on the record that we have raised this issue for the last three years. The Congress had not shown any concern about this till now.  “In the past we have held demonstrations demanding reservation for Delhi students, we have also approached the Vice Chancellor of Delhi University and other authorities for the same.”

The Delhi BJP President has written to the VC of DU regarding this in the past (scanned copy of letter attached). The BJP had also released Delhi Declaration on June 24,“State of Higher Education” clearly raising  this issue.

“When we started raising this demand, Congress government did not respond but now after the Vikas Rally of Sept. 29, it realized that the youth of the city feel betrayed by the Congress government’s apathy towards them. Their overwhelming support to the BJP  in this rally and prior to that has come as a shocker to the Congress and as a last ditch effort it is trying to save the day prior to the assembly polls.”

Shri Vijay Goel spearheads efforts to redeem lost glory of Qudsia Bagh, inaugurates Jogging Track

Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel today inaugurated the Jogging Track at Qudsia Bagh in north Delhi as part of the efforts to redeem the lost glory of the medieval garden built by Qudsia Begum, the wife of Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah Rangeela in 1748. The former inauguration by Shri Goel was the culmination of a process that began with the creation of Facebook Page, “Qudsia Bagh” in Febraury this year to create awareness about the historical garden in Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Goel said, “I have been among the regular visitors of the Qudsia Bagh and the dilapidated condition of the garden has been a matter of concern for many. It is important to restore and preserve the historical value and charm of the garden.”

Call for restoration and revival of the Qudsia Bagh began with concerned citizens and morning walkers at the garden raising concerns for the welfare of Qudsia Bagh.  A meeting was called on April 12, 2013 to discuss these concerns with Authorities of MCD, Mayor and the Standing Committee Chairman. Shri Vijay Goel was invited for the meeting.

It was decided in the meeting that the concerns relating to the revival and upkeep of Qudsia Bagh to suit the modern day requirements of citizens should be taken care of by forming a Society involving all authorities and morning walkers from the adjoining areas.

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata President Shri Vijay Goel today expressed his gratitude to the citizens of Delhi and all BJP cadres for making today’s “Vikas Rally” at Japanese Park a huge success.

Shri Goel said, “The overwhelming response from Delhi’ites to Sh. Narnedra Modi and other BJP leaders’ speeches has made this rally the most memorable and historic. I am thankful to all those who have supported us in organising this rally. This wouldn’t have been possible without participation of common people and hard work of thousands of BJP cadres who had been working tirelessly for this rally.”

“On behalf of my party and all leaders and cadres I congratulate the citizens of Delhi for organising a historic rally. I am sure this rally is a clear indication that there is a strong pro-BJP mood in Delhi and people do not want to tolerate misrule of Congress anymore.”

BJP will present a new development model for Delhi, says Shri Vijay Goel

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to expose the misrule of Congress in Delhi during last 15 years in the Vikas Rally on September 29. The party will highlight  Delhi specific issues in this rally  which is going to be addressed by  BJP’s Prime Ministerial Candidate Shri Narendar Modi, Delhi Election in-charge and former national BJP President Shri Nitin Gadkari, Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel and Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra. The rally will start at 10 am on September 29 at Japanese Park, Rohini.

Addressing a joint press conference today Shri Goel and Prof. Malhotra said, “This will be a historic rally. More than five lakh people attend it. The Congress government is scared of the massive response this rally has got and hence it is creating obstructions in putting up hoardings, posters etc.”

“The focus of this Vikas Rally is to a great extent on the development of Delhi. This rally will give voice to millions of Delhi’ites who are awaiting development even after 15 years of Congress rule. The BJP ruled states such as Gujarat, Chattisgrah, Madhya Pradesh and Goa have presented new development models. The BJP would implement similar models in Delhi when it comes to power.”

Prof.  Malhotra said, “Tomorrow’s rally will expose Congress’ hollow claims on the issue of inflation, corruption and lack of development in Delhi. The city has been turned into a slum during last 15 years by the Congress government.”

“The BJP is going to discuss not only the misdeeds of the Congress but also the positive agenda for the city in the rally tomorrow. “Development” is the mantra for BJP. Shri Modi himself is an icon of development and the Delhi BJP is also focusing on ‘development’,” added Shri Goel.

The Vikas Rally will reinforce the growing belief in the people of Delhi that BJP is a party for development.  In BJP’s focus on development is the key reason for the party getting huge support from all communities and sections of society for tomorrow’s rally. Large number of people from minority communities, youth, women, dalits and other weaker sections of the society are going to attend this rally.

Shri Goel said, “This will be a historic and the most memorable rally in this history of Delhi. Thousands of committed BJP workers have worked over the last few days to make it a success. I have been personally monitoring and supervising the preparations of this rally along with all other senior leaders of the party.  I can see that this rally has further galvanised the already charged up BJP cadres.”

The Delhi BJP has made exquisite transport arrangements for people keen to attend the rally. These arrangements have been made in accordance with the areas of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi. So, there will seven different sets of buses each with a distinct colour scheme representing the seven Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi.

Vijay Goel today visited the venue of the September 29 Vikas Rally at the Japanese Park in Rohini along with the members of the 18 committees formed to oversee the preparation for the rally, which will be addressed among others by BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi,. Shri Goel extended an open invitation to the people of Delhi to attend the historic rally.

Inspecting the venue, Shri Goel said, “Though we are sending invitations also but there is an open invitation extended to all those who want to attend this rally. Our volunteers will ensure that everyone who wants to attend the rally can do that." Around 5 lakh persons are expected to attend the September 29 rally. Shri Goel said, "The party has made exquisite arrangements for buses for people going for the rally. The transport arrangements have been made according to the areas of the Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi. Accordingly, the buses will be in seven different colours representing seven Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi. The colour scheme of the buses is being finalized.”

Sh. Goel further said, “Considering the tremendous popularity of Shri Modi among the youth, the party is giving special focus on them. Special passes for youth are being issued to them for attending the rally. Youth are being contacted in all the colleges in Delhi and NCR to ensure that their enthusiasm is reflected when they take part in the rally in huge numbers.”

“Special arrangements will be made for the youth at the venue of the rally. A separate enclosure is being built in the rally pandals to accommodate young participants of the rally,” Sh. Goel informed.

The Delhi BJP President said that minority communities have shown great enthusiasm for theSeptember 29 rally.

Sh. Goel said, “We are expecting an impressive attendance of minorities in this historic rally. Apart from the Delhi BJP Minority Morcha, senior leaders of the party are also mobilizing among others the minority communities for the rally. Development has been the key concern and agenda for the minorities too, and they see Sh. Narendra Modi as an ambassdor of development. Obviously, there is a fabulous response from the minority communities for the rally, which has been named as Vikas Rally.”

Sensing the enthusiasm and zeal among the supporters and common populace of Delhi for the rally, the Delhi BJP has put up a counter at its headquarters at 14, Pt Pant Marg for merchandise for the rally including caps, T-shirts etc.  Meanwhile the prabhat pheris in all 280 Mandals continue to attract huge response from all sections of society.

President to file criminal complaint against Arvind Kejriwal

In a statement issued today, the Delhi Bharatiya Janata party said that in view of the mischievous and baseless allegations of corruption against the Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel by AAP leader Sh. Arvind Kejriwal, a criminal complaint will be filed against him.

The Delhi BJP President has already served a legal notice to him. The reply given by Sh. Kejriwal has no specific details that could prove even an iota of the allegations leveled against the Delhi BJP President.  Hence the Delhi BJP President is compelled  to file a criminal complaint against Sh. Kejriwal.

Ironically Sh. Kejriwal’s vitriolic  and personal attack on Delhi BJP  is  helping the Congress most. It is surprising that instead of targeting the Congress government, AAP leaders are targeting the main opposition party BJP which is all set to  defeat Congress.

As people are able to see through Sh. Kejriwal’s attempts to divide the anti-incumbency vote thus helping Congress to make come back, his party is losing support. Many of his colleagues have left him in the past realizing that he is leading a Congress ‘B’ team.

Thus his recent outbursts are also a reflection of his growing frustration. The Delhi BJP believes  that political battles should not lead to personal attacks. The Delhi BJP will resist any attempts to vitiate the city’s political culture through mischievous and false allegations on any of its leaders.

Huge response from public for Sept. 29 rally, BJP cadres are galvanized: Vijay Goel

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party today unveiled “Operation Blitzkrieg”   for the historic “Vikas Rally” on September 29 at Japense Park, Rohini. The rally will be addressed by Shri Narendra Modi, BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate.

Addressing a press conference today, Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel unveiled the plan for an innovative stage design, a high-decibel 360 degree publicity campaign and use of state of the art technology  for the rally.

“The most important aspect about this rally in addition to 5 lakh people attending the rally is that we are going to extensively use technology for this rally. The party is using state of the art technology to ensure that not only those who attend the rally can have a life time experience listening to Shri Modi but those who are not able to come to the venue  due to restrains of space can  share this joy too.”

“Around 20,000 square feet area will form the enclosure for the stage. There will be three stages in all with one main stage with a dimension of 80X40 sq feet. The main stage is a two-level stage with 8 feet height with the central podium of 10 feet height. There will be two other stages adjacent to the main stage,” informed Shri Goel.

“There will be two gain screens behind the stage and 20 LED screens within the ground. Around 5 lakh people are going to attend this rally. These 20 LED screens will ensure that those attending the rally can get a close view of the leaders at the stage as they speak.”

To make the stage lively, there will be a dynamic backdrop with moving visuals that will carry the message in a subtle yet very impressive manner. This stage is modern and contemporary and would ensure that anyone who attends the rally should feel close by to those on the stage.

To ensure that the speeches are heard perfectly,   the state of the art “Line Array” sound system is being used. These would ensure that every word spoken from the stage is delivered in perfectly audible form to those attending the rally. The Line Array System ensures that even the last person standing or sitting on the ground gets to hear as good a voice as the first one.

“The sound system will use four-way speakers as a part of the Line-Array system. These are the best speakers in the world and provide high quality optimum sound for such mammoth gatherings.

The rally will be covered by seven camera shoot. This multi-camera feed will be available for live broadcast to all broadcasters who want to use this feed. The video streaming will be done through the latest and state of the art “Watch-Out” technology that provides high definition video streaming from different angles thus providing a wide choice to viewers and broadcasters.

In another unique initiative the private TV channels will be made available studio space on the venue from where they can broadcast special programmes, commentaries, analysis and live details of the rally minute by minute.

Meanwhile, several LED screens will be put across the city at different locations for live broadcast of the rally. The party is putting up more than 250 hoardings for the rally across the city. A number of radio spots are being put on air on FM radio stations across the city which would play atleast 30-50 times a day on each station. In addition stickers, pamphlets, T-shirts, Caps, are being prepared and distributed as a part of the merchandise. An online campaign for the rally is already on with extensive use of social media platforms. The party is getting great response from these.

To ensure smooth flow of traffic, availability of sufficient drinking water and medical aid on the day of the rally, preparations are under progress. Adequate number of BJP volunteers will help Delhi Traffic Police and other authorities to ensure smooth organizing of the rally.

“At the organizational level, cadres are mobilizing common people. Prabhat Pheris in all 280 mandals are already underway and I am taking padyatras across the city. This morning I went to Shalimar Bagh for the Padyatra where I got tremendous response. The BJP workers are galvanized and people are awaiting eagerly to hear Shri Modi on Sept. 29 rally,” said Shri Goel
