Delhi rape case: BJP women activists protest outside Sonia’s residence
NEW DELHI: Among the several places where protesters assembled on Saturday, besides the Delhi Police headquarters, were the Gandhi Nagar police station, AIIMS, India Gate and residences of union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and chief minister Sheila Dikshit. New Delhi was turned into a fortress with water cannons stationed outside the residence of the home minister but the cops denied allegations of imposing section 144 in the area.

Citing the rising number of crime against women in the national capital, BJP on Friday mocked Delhi's official tagline launched by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, saying it should be 'Balatkar Dilli' (Rape Delhi) rather than 'Dildaar Dilli' (Magnanimous Delhi).

राज्य ब्यूरो, नई दिल्ली : दिल्ली सरकार के पास भले ही कानून व्यवस्था की जिम्मेदारी न हो लेकिन राज्य में होने वाली किसी भी घटना के लिए सरकार को ही जिम्मेदार ठहराया जाता है। गांधीनगर में साढ़े पांच साल की बच्ची का अपहरण कर उसके साथ दुष्कर्म व बर्बरता और पुलिस की लापरवाही के लिए भाजपा ने दिल्ली सरकार को कटघरे में खड़ा किया है। प्रदेश भाजपा अध्यक्ष विजय गोयल ने एक संवाददाता सम्मेलन में कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री का यह कहना गलत है कि दिल्ली दिलदार है बल्कि दिल्ली तो बलात्कार दिल्ली के रूप में तब्दील होती जा रही है। कानून-व्यवस्था के खिलाफ कुछ ठोस कदम उठाने के बजाय, मुख्यमंत्री यह कहकर अपना पल्ला झाड़ लेती हैं कि यहा तो मेरी बेटी भी सुरक्षित नहीं है।

A five-year-old girl was brutally raped and assaulted allegedly by her neighbour while being held captive and starved for two days in east Delhi's Gandhi Nagar. She also contracted infection from foreign objects inserted in her body.
