City anchor: Winnability factor to decide who gets poll ticket: Delhi BJP chief

The Delhi unit of BJP will see some drastic changes in the pattern of ticket distribution this forthcoming Assembly polls. Making winnability the sole criteria, newly appointed Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel has decided that even sitting councillors who have the potential to win will be considered for seats in ticket distribution.

Will cut power tariff by 30%: Goel

Sounding the poll bugle at his maiden press conference as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Delhi unit chief, Vijay Goel unfolded the issues his party will use to challenge the incumbent Congress in the assembly elections later this year. Power remained on top of his list as he promised to cut electricity tariff by 30%. “We will reduce power tariff by 30% the day we assume power in Delhi,” Goel said.

Party to focus on problems of slum, JJ colony residents: Goel

Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel on Tuesday said the party has started working for the development of 40 lakh people living in unauthorised colonies, 30 lakh in JJ colonies, 10 lakh in slums and 5 to 10 lakh in villages.Goel warned Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit against raising the power tariff again. He said BJP will reduce the power tariff by 30 per cent. "In BJP-ruled states like Gujarat, rates have not been raised for 12 years," he said.

People should cut use of power if they cannot afford high electricity tarifff, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said today, a prescription that evoked criticism. Under attack for the hike in power tariff, Dikshit also sought to justify it, saying the increase in cost of power production has led to the rise in electricity rates.

भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) की दिल्ली इकाई के नव निर्वाचित अध्यक्ष विजय गोयल ने बुधवार को कहा कि राजधानी के लोगों को बिजली मिल नहीं रही है और दरें अनाप शनाप बढाई जा रही हैं जिसे लेकर रामलीला मैदान में रैली की जाएगी। केन्द्रीय गृहमंत्री के हिन्दू आतंकवाद के विरोध में पार्टी की तरफ से जंतर मंतर पर आयोजित रैली को संबोधित करते हुए गोयल ने अपना ध्यान दिल्ली की समस्याओं पर ही केन्द्रित रखा। उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली सरकार और बिजली कंपनियों के बीच सांठगांठ का परिणाम है कि राजधानी में बिजली की दरों में कमी आने की बजाय निरंतर बढोतरी की जा रही है।

BJP to stage protest march against Sushilkumar Shinde today

On the eve of the Budget session, the BJP will organise a protest march against Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde's Hindu terror remarks where he had alleged the BJP and RSS were running terror training camps. BJP's top brass, led by party president Rajnath Singh along with senior leaders Arun Jaitley, Murli Manohar Joshi and Venkaiah Naidu, are slated to lead the protest march here on Wednesday. With the message to his party workers that he would give them the Government in Delhi provided they gave him 200 days, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Union Minister Vijay Goel on Sunday took charge as the new president of Delhi unit of the party. New Delhi: Vowing to bring BJP back into power in Delhi where it has lost three consecutive assembly elections, newly appointed state BJP President Vijay Goel on Sunday said the Sheila Diskhit government will be dethroned in the upcoming polls as people were fed up with it. "There is no challenge for me, I am the challenge for Congress. Give me 200 days, I will give you government in Delhi," he said while addressing party workers at a function here.

Need change, so chose Goel: BJP

The choice was not wide, and there was need for change, BJP chief Rajnath Singh said a day after naming Vijay Goel the new chief of the party's Delhi unit. The decision to pick Goel was unanimous, Singh said. "It was very clear from the beginning. Everyone rooted for change that could lead the party towards victory with experience," he said.
