Congress should apologies for misleading on Rafale – Vijay Goel

The way the congress and Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of Rafael deal and levelled baseless allegations against the central government, Union Minister and former Delhi BJP President Vijay Goel lead a protest march along with Hundreds of party Workers. He rode a Motor Cycle from his residence Ashok Road to Connaught place to expose the lies of Congress.

Goel said that Supreme Court in its judgment has cleared the purchase of 36 Rafael fighter aircrafts and clearly mentioned that there has no irregularity in the deal and has also dismissed all the petitions.  Congress and Rahul Gandhi have been persistently abused and maligned the image of PM Narendra Modi as well his Government.

However, the truth is that Congress is afraid of the popularity of our PM and that is why they are spreading lies. Goel has demanded that the congress and Rahul Gandhi should apologise to the nation and the arm forces on the issue.  Now, the Supreme Court has said that it is in the interest of nation.

Goel said that government is ready to discuss the Rafael issue in the parliament but the congress and other opposition parties are running away from the discussion as they fear that their lies will be exposed and their corruption cases will be brought out in the forefront. Govt is ready to discuss on any number of hours in this issue in parliament.

Goel also said that whatever issues are being raised related to JPC are an attempt by the opposition parties to indulge in petty political gimmicks.

Earlier Congress made an issue on EVM machine and now they have trust issue with the Judiciary as well.Such political opportunism is not good for parliamentary democracy.

To thank PM Modi hundreds of Muslim women gathered outside Goel’s residence

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and former BJP Delhi Pradesh President Vijay Goel has welcomed the Union Cabinet Ordinance on Triple Talaq, which makes it a punishable offence. Goel said that it is a part of Mod government’s comprehensive policy to empower women of the country and not be linked to politics or religion. The minister stated that the Bill is ‘pro-women’ and the opposition should appreciateit for the simple fact that it grants equality to Muslim women.

To thank PM Narendra Modi on this historic move on Triple Talaq, hundreds of Muslim women gathered at Union Minister Vijay Goel’s residence in New Delhi. Goel welcomed the gathering and celebrated the decision by distributing sweets. He also assured the women present that he would personally convey their message to the Prime Minister. During this meet, an emotional lady said that her husband abandoned her along with her four little children taking advantage of Triple Talaq. On this, Goel assured her full help.

The Union Minister said that in a secular country like India, injustice was being done to many women for a long time. This ordinance was an urgent need for justice, dignity and equality of women. Goel lamented that “despite Supreme Court’s orders last year, Triple Talaq continued unabated”. He said that as many as 430 Triple Talaq took place between January 2017 to September 2018, out of which 201 cases were reported after the SC order.

Goel accused Congress of double standards. He said “it’s the same Congress who supported the bill in the Lok Sabha and allowed it to pass. But, they did a U-turn when it came to Rajya Sabha”. Why is the Congress against Triple Talaq?  “I tried my best to build a united front to pass the bill in the Rajya Sabha, met senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Anand Sharma several times in this regard, but to no avail. They were adamant on not letting the bill go through in Rajya Sabha.

Thrilled by the news, women said that the decision by the Modi govt on the issue of Triple Talaq was in their favour. They said they want to thank Narendra Modi for being the only person in so many years to come forward and take a concrete step towards safeguarding their rights.

Issue of sealing houses in the name of shops will be taken up with the Monitoring Committee

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and former BJP Delhi Pradesh President Vijay Goel today demonstrated against the arbitrary sealing with local merchants in the North-West Delhi's Trinagar area. He mentioned that he will take up the matter of shops getting sealed despite being paid conversion charges with the MCD officials. He also added that he would raise the issue of houses getting sealed in the name of shops with the Monitoring Committee.

Speaking to the media,Goel said we cannot afford to push people to take drastic steps because of the sealing. Goel wasreferring to an incident wherein a 35-year-old tailor from Bihar, reeling under financial crisis after his owner’s shop was sealed in the ongoing sealing drive committed suicide in northwest Delhi’s Keshawpuram.

Goel said that local traders have suffered because of the sealing driveand many have expressed anger. The fact is that factories in the area have already been shifted out and their shutters are down, and people are leaving there. Ironically, these houses are also being sealed. Similarly, the shops who have already paid conversion charges to the MCD are getting sealed too.

Goel remarked that members of the Supreme Court-appointed monitoring committee carrying out the sealing drives are not aware of ground realities and have overlooked people’s plight. He stated that stakeholders involved with the sealing process needs to understand the resentment of the people and take immediate and corrective steps.

On the occasion, Goel assured all the traders and people in the locality that he would take the matter up with the SC-appointed Monitoring Committee and MCD officials. He further added that he is not against sealing, but rules and human aspects cannot be ignored.

Vijay Goel said that thousands of families are on the brink of destruction due to sealing. He said he has no intention of interfering in the process of preventing unauthorized construction but pointed to the fact that all aspects relating to the sealing should be considered.

Central Govt. should intervene to protect the legacy of Chandni Chowk: Goel

Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Former Delhi BJP President Vijay Goel, demanded that the Central Govt. should intervene to save the historic heritage of old Delhi. He accused the Delhi government of failing to develop the historic Shahjahanabad area. He said that Shahjahanabad area should be included in the central government's 'HRIDAYA' scheme so that the havelis and other heritage structure can be saved on time from destruction.

He called on the Chandni Chowk residents and heritage lovers to fight together to save Chandni Chowk area . He further said that he will never allow this beautiful and historical market to become slum in any situtation. Local traders closed the market for half a day and gave full support to this March from Gauri shankar Temple to Fatah Puri Masjid.

Residents of Chandni Chowk reflected a lot of enthusiasm this morning regarding Vijay Goel's "Save Heritage, Save Chandni Chowk "March. The office bearers of Chandni Chowk ‘’Sarva Vyapar Mandal’’, the largest body of shopkeepers at Chandni Chowk and all traders welcomed Vijay Goel in the morning at Gauri Shankar temple and started the March under his leadership. A large number of heritage lovers also joined this March. Goel was heartly welcome and also garlanded at various places by the traders.

The main purpose of this March of Vijay Goel is was to save the rich heritage of Old Delhi. He demanded  that the havelis of old Delhi, important heritage structure should be rescued, the destruction of pristine havelis must stop, the illegal and unauthorised construction should be stopped, the electricity wires should be underground, the Chandni Chowk should be developed on the pedestrian only zone. And this is essential if the harmony of Chandni Chowk needs to be restoredto its old grandeur As, it was done in Chandni Chowk in 1998 in ‘’Chaudhavee ka Chand’’ festival and again in the Amritsar of Punjab. Goel appealed to the Central Government to include Shahjahanabad area in the HRIDAY (heritage city development and augmentation yojana) scheme of the Central Government to save the heritage of the Havelis on time. He said that the time has come when Central Government should take the responsibility of this heritage city for this a separate body should be constituted because the Delhi government has totally failed to handle this responsibility. It is notable that under the 'HRIDAY' scheme, the Union Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs  runs a special schemes and provides financial assistance for the protection of the country's rich cultural heritage.

Addressing in front of The Town Hall, Goel said that the Delhi Government and the Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Board has become defunct. Not a single brick has been laid here in the name of development. Government buildings, such as Town Hall and hundreds of havelis, which , themselves have a history, are turning to ruins.

The President of 'Heritage India Foundation' and former MP from Chandni Chowk twice, Goel said that his movement will continue. This is not against anybody but it is for the development of old Delhi. It is notable that before this, Mr. Goel has played an important role in the development of 33 acres of park, Mirza Ghalib's mansion, Ajmeri gate fountain park, Haveli Dharmapura and Lahori Gate museum in front of the Red Fort.

On this occasion Sanjay Bhargava, President of the Sarv Vyapar Mandal, gave full support to Vijay Goel and said that all the traders are with the the campaign of Shri Goel. He appealed to his business colleagues that they all should give full support to Shri Goel who has been fighting for last 20 years for the cause, only then this historic & heritage city would be saved.

Vijay Goel will March to save the heritage of Chandni Chowk

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and former BJP President Vijay Goel has called a ‘Padyatra’ 'Save Heritage, Save Chandni Chowk to protect and preserve the legacy of Chandni Chowk of historic Old Delhi. Goel is all set to lead a ‘’Pad yatra’’ from Gauri Shankar Temple to Fatehpuri Masjid on July 5th with hundreds of supporters, local businessmen and heritage lovers. During this time Chandni Chowk's market will remain close for half a day.

The traders and locals of Chandni Chowk are enthusiastic for Vijay Goyal's ‘Pad Yatra’. Tomorrow, all the shopkeepers of Chandni Chowk will close their shops for half a day and support and welcome Vijay Goyal. Chandni Chowk Sarva Vyapar Mandal, the largest institution of traders of Chandni Chowk, has taken this decision in a meeting.

Mandal President Sanjay Bhargava said that it has been decided in a resolution that traders and residents of Chandni Chowk are extending a support and join the march on 5th July from Shri Gauri Shankar Temple to Fatehpuri Masjid. He appealed to join the ‘’Pad Yatra’’ with large numbers and provide support to restore the historical glory of Chandni Chowk.

The Pad Yatra will start from Gauri Shankar temple on July 5 at 11 a.m. The main demands are that the havelis of old Delhi and their destruction should be stop, the important monuments should be rescued, illegal construction should be stopped, electric wires should be underground and Chandni Chowk should be made pedestrian zone to get back its beauty. Just like the celebration of Chaudhaveen ka chand held in Chandni Chowk in 1998 and also done in Amritsar of Punjab.

Goel said that the Delhi government and the Shahjahanabad redevelopment board are doing nothing. Not a single brick has been put so far in the name of development. It has become very difficult to move into the crowd of Chandni Chowk. Due to rickshaws, traffic jam, old sewers, and dabbling electric wires Chandni Chowk has now appearing like a dirty and unsightly slum, full of rickshaw, old sewer and suspended electric wires turns the Chandni Chowk into a slum area.

Goel said that their movement will continue.

Mr. Goel, who was president of 'Heritage India Foundation' and MP from Chandni Chowk twice, says that if nothing has been done for Chandni Chowk soon, then the culture, heritage, Ganga-Jamuni tehajib will all end. Shri Goel has appealed to all the Chandni Chowk residents and heritage lovers to gather on one platform and save the historical heritage of Chandni Chowk .

Chandni Chowk has become worse than Dharvi of Mumbai: Vijay Goel

Minister of State for Central Parliamentary Affairs and former Delhi BJP President Vijay Goel said that the immediate attention is required on Chandni Chowk of Old Delhi otherwise Chandni Chowk would become an area of terribly illegal construction and dangerous buildings. The 350-year-old Heritage City is fast turning into a concrete slum. Goel said that metro has become the savior of Chandni Chowk. He ridiculed that the entire cabinet of the Delhi Government did not do anything except defamation and protest against LG. If they protest here in the Chandni Chowk, then at least they could know about the problems here.

Shri Goel said that his biggest concern is the destruction of a Havelis every day. In the previous survey of Delhi Government 551 havelis were marked. These havelis are now being destroyed every day and are turning into a market. Corrupt officials of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi are not able to prevent these havilis from breaking up nor they are able to stop illegal constructions.

Shri Goel said that in the last few days when he reached ‘’Kucha Patiram’’ in Sitaram Bazaar, he found that the havelis were getting broken one by one. Likewise, the havelis are also breaking in Balimaran. Shri Goel said that the biggest example of corruption in the municipal corporation is the building adjacent to the Town Hall. The building was so weak and a structure on its first floor was fell down recently. Now a big casket shaped building has been constructed on it, which looks like the black spot on the beauty of this area. The Aam Aadmi Party leaders have been placed on top of this building, so that no one has dropped down this building.

Mr. Goel said that he had complained to the municipal commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner of the area about the rest of the havelis of the Chandni Chowk but no action was being taken. Shri Goel said that work of ‘Shahjahanabad Development Board’ of Delhi Government is the development of Shahjahanabad i.e. old Delhi. But the Board has only passed the proposals in the meetings. There did not take a single action in the name of development. It would be better that the Delhi government will take a protest against LG from Chandni Chowk, so that they will know some of the problems of this area.

Shri Goel said that when the tourists from India and abroad come to Chandni Chowk, then what would they think by watching the thick electric wires trapping on the head, shelters, random and unsafe illegal construction and encroachment? The Chandni Chowk, which should have been included in the UNESCO Heritage List, has become as crappy and dirty like Mumbai's Slum Dharavi.

Shri Goel said that he will do a foot march to save the hawelis and heritage of Chandni Chowk on Thursday 5th July. He will demand from Delhi Government, Shahjahanabad development board to take prompt action to save the hawelis of Chandni Chowk, to prevent the area from illegal construction, to make the heritage city of Chandni Chowk and to develop this area. He will also demand intervention from the central government, if necessary, otherwise the legacy of old Delhi will be completely eliminated.

Delhi Assembly adopts resolution seeking 85% reservation in DU for city students

Union Minister Vijay Goel expressed joy with the decision of the Delhi Government to grant 85% reservation of seats in Delhi government colleges for city students. The decision if approved will apply on all 28 colleges under the Delhi government. Goel said that it is a personal victory for his 5 year long struggle.
